We are on our way back to base in Wales but stayed over in Witney near Oxford. This is Mr Cameron’s constituency and quite a contrast to the industrial North.
Here even the charity shops look up market. There are lots of cookery shops and the big excitement is the arrival of the Seville Oranges so everyone can make their own marmalade.
The local snack bar is called “SANDWICH DE WITNEY” and serves fresh home-made bagettes!
This is one of the local community halls, formerly the Corn Exchange then Police Station. My daughter hopes to stage an evening of entertainment here later in the year. Music , singing , dance and stand up comedy, all to raise money for Tal’s fund. Just to mention Tal is whizzing round in his new wheel chair. This has been kindly funded by the Welsh Assembly. In England there is still opinion that young children can be wheeled around in push chairs …. great for their self-esteem and independence ! Sorry grumble for the day.Watch his performance on www.talsgoodfeet.org.
