PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

The first weekend in October the village of Rians in the Var hosts a Pumpkin festival. If you decide to go I recommend the mornings either Saturday or Sunday as on both days the afternoons can get really busy. The parking in a large field on the outskirts of the village is free and well organised. One problem is that if you arrive short of cash there is no ATM machine in the centre of the village. The only one is out by the supermarket on the main D23 road.
There is a lunch served open air with live music, but there is enough food on the stalls to keep you going. Here are some photos from 2010 to give you a flavour of the event.
